What to expect...
We know that choosing a church family is a very important and sometimes tough decision. We also understand that visiting a new church can often times be intimidating! In light of this, we want to help you with this decision as much as possible.
You may be searching for a place to develop life-long friendships and relationships; or for a relevant message addressing concerns in your life; or maybe you are looking for a church that has ministries for everyone in your family. Whatever you are looking for, we believe we can be an encouragement to you and your entire family no matter where you are in life's journey. If you are looking for a church family, join us for one of our worship services. We look forward to meeting you soon!
As you arrive....
you will be greeted by our Connect Team as they welcome you to Stoney Creek! They will give you some information and a welcome gift, too. It's our way of saying "thanks for choosing to worship with us!"
You will probably notice a Sherrif's Deputy car as you arrive, which is simply an added precautionary measure to ensure safety on our campus and no need for alarm.
8:30 am Traditional Service / Sanctuary
If this is when you arrive, you will find our Connect Team Host just inside the vestibule, ready to answer any questions you may have and show you to the nursery or children's areas, if needed.
9:45 a.m. Sunday School
If you arrive for Sunday School, check in at the the Connect Center Cafe in the Fellowship Hall where coffee and snacks are served. Our Host will be glad to answer any questions and help you find a class! We have something for all ages!
11:00 a.m. Contemporary Service / The Pointe
(located at the back of our property in our newest, most contemporary space!)
If you have children birth to 5th grade, you may wish to arrive in time to take them to their class/nursery in the 3 story building before heading to The Pointe. We will be glad to help you get them checked in!
If you are heading straight to The Pointe, then look for the green tent! Just inside the lobby, our Connect Team Host will be glad to answer any questions and direct you to our worship space.
If you have a baby....
you are welcome to bring your sweet baby into worship with you. There are spaces available in both the Sanctuary and The Pointe should your baby become restless or you need a place for privacy. We also encourage you to take advantage of our supervised nursery with skilled and loving caregivers in our Main Building. We will be happy to show you just where to go.
We love children...
and have environments created with them in mind in our 3 story CEC (Christian Education Center) and the Stadium, too! Toddlers to 5th graders will have fun learning about God's love with leaders who love kids! We will be glad to show you to their rooms and help you get them checked in!
Our worship services...
provide you with two opportunities for corporate worship.
Our 8:30 a.m. service is "traditional" in nature and meets in our main sanctuary. Familiar hymns of the faith are led by a worship leader and accompanied by a grand piano and organ.
Our 11:00 a.m. service is "contemporary" in nature and meets in The Pointe which is the newest and m
ost modern building on our campus. It is located at the rear of the large main parking lot. Praise and worship style songs are led by a praise team and accompanied by an electronic keyboard, drums and electric and acoustic guitars.
Although the music style varies, the sermon in each service is the same! We strive to share a message that is relevant, Biblical, uplifting and inspiring. In all of our worship services, our main focus is upward--magnifying and exalting our great and wondrous God and His Son, Jesus Christ. As we focus upward on worshipping God, we know God is aware of our needs and situation in life and He blesses us as we bless Him.
Beyond You r First Visit...
we would really like to get to know you and answer any questions you may have about our church or faith in general! Ask one of our pastors or call the church office (919-735-3916) Monday thru Friday and let us know you would like to learn more! Any of our Pastors would love to take you to lunch or stop by your home at your convenience to talk with you!
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get to Stoney Creek Church?
Please visit our interactive map.
How far in advance should I arrive?
Some people arrive "JIT-style" (i.e. just in time). However, if you can arrive 15 -20 minutes before the service we can answer any questions, help you check in your children and you can enjoy refreshments, too. Of course, as a first-time guest, you may feel more comfortable having your entire family with you in the worship service. Feel free to do whichever works best for your family. Each of our services are about an hour in duration. The 8:30 a.m. Traditional Service meets in the Sanctuary. The 11 a.m. Contemporary Service meets in The Pointe--which is the newest building on our campus and is located at the rear of the large main parking lot at the southern-most end of the campus.
What should I wear?
At Stoney Creek, we encourage you to come as you are. In case you are wondering, most people attend wearing business-casual attire. Our 11a.m. contemporary service tends to be the most casual. Don't be surprised if you see some suits and ties, as well as some people wearing jeans. What's most important to us is that you are here--not what you are wearing! Remember--God sees our heart and that's what He cares about.
What about my kids?
Loving childcare is provided for Birth thru 2 years of age on Sunday morning. For children three through 5th grade, a Bible class time is provided. We offer a safe environment with loving, caring adults who want to share the love of Jesus with your children!
When are the Service Times?
Gathering together for a time of worshipping God is very important at Stoney Creek. If you are new to the area or looking for a church home, we encourage you to be our guest. Sunday morning services are at 8:30 a.m. & 11 a.m. Sunday School meets at 9:45 a.m.
